Join your hosts Kris and Chris on adventures in the great outdoors.  Our love of the natural world was one of the reasons we started Biotica EcoTours.  As biologists, we are always looking to share our appreciation of nature with others. 

We started Biotica EcoTours as an extension of a lifestyle.  Ecotourism is a great way to experience the great outdoors while minimizing your footprint on the environment. We practice minimalistic tourism, in small groups, where reaching your destination is fueled only by what you ate for breakfast. Life doesn’t necessarily need to run on gasoline. Neither does fun. Come join us and see for yourself.

Your guide: Chris Oliver

Chris started out as an art major, but soon found that one of his true passions was in the biological sciences.  He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Biology.  He combines both art and biology by dragging his Nikon camera everywhere.  Chris has more photos of insects, otters and other wildlife cramming the hard drive on his computer than probably should be admitted. Almost all of the photos and artwork on this site belong to him. Chris currently works as an Environmental Specialist for Sarasota County, FL and specializes in aquatic plants, plant invertebrate relationships, and invasive species control.

Your guide: Kris Fehlberg

Kris holds a degree in Biology from the University of Utah and worked as an Endangered Species Biologist out West before relocating to Sarasota, FL. Kris has been obsessed with wild things since she was five years old.  Her mother learned early on to empty out her pockets before throwing her clothes in the wash.  Kris currently works as an Environmental Specialist for Sarasota County, FL and specializes in wetland and habitat restoration and in endangered species issues in Southwest Florida.

Rest easy, both your guides are certified in CPR and wilderness first aid.
